Our Process

Whether you are buying, selling or maintaining your home, A Better Home Inspection provides professional and quality service from the moment you call us. We will walk through your home with you and teach you as much as you want to learn. We strictly follow the Standards of Practice for home inspectors established by InterNACHI, the leading national home inspection association.

After we walk through the home together, we will explain the general condition of the home and systems with you and your agent, talk through any major issues that need to be addressed sooner rather than later, and mention the items that you will want to keep an eye on for deferred maintenance. All of this will be detailed in our easy-to-read Spectora report, which will be delivered in HTML and/or PDF format. From that report, you’ll be able to see the items we discussed, with images for reference. Call us today for a thorough and comprehensive home inspection.

A home inspection is an important step in the home buying process. Professionally trained home inspectors assist in maintaining the health of your home and a property inspection makes home maintenance easy by catching minor problems before they become big projects. In just a few hours, you will have a detailed report of the condition of your home so you can plan for needed repairs and upgrades when it’s time to make them. When purchasing a home, many homebuyers have saved thousands of dollars through information provided by the home inspector. Homeowners who have owned their homes for several years can even benefit from a home inspector’s knowledge of maintenance and repairs, and experience to avert potential problems.

When buying a home, you need an inspection for your peace of mind. Sellers also benefit from home inspections by knowing the condition of their home before listing. If your new home still has a home warranty through a builder, it is smart to have a home inspection before it expires.

Home Inspectors have the training, experience and competence that comes with being in the industry and inspecting hundreds of homes. We know what to look for and what to look at. Considering the average home, there are hundreds of items that should be inspected. While you or someone you may know can examine the home and roughly determine the overall condition of it, inspectors are certified and equipped with the proper tools to uncover hidden deficiencies. We detect minor/major flaws, defects in workmanship, improper installation and construction parameters and unsafe conditions that the general public would miss.

We have the training, experience and qualifications and will exceed your expectations. A professional knows what to look for and reports the condition to their clients in a detailed report outlining the condition of the home. Our inspectors offer insight to the buyer regarding the actual condition of all the items in the home, so the buyer can make an informed buying decision.

The cost of your inspection depends on the total square footage of the home, location, additional services and if the utilities are turned on. Some services, such as air quality, sewer scope, and pool/spa inspections are additional.
